Toula Zoulas, MA, MS, PsyD, ABD Clinical Mental Health Specialist
Ms. Toula Zoulas a Clinical Mental Health Specialist, has devoted her career to working with and studying treatments for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), behavioral, anxiety disorders and depression. Her training was under prestigious mentors at the New York State Psychiatric Institute/Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons working on NIMH funded longitudinal studies demonstrating the need for early identification of childhood psychiatric disorders, large-scale prevention programs and individualized treatment plans. She further continued her career at NYU child Study Center as Project Manager for the Preventive Intervention for Anxious Preschoolers and Their Parents: Strengthening Early Emotional Development Study. A study was evaluating parent–child indicated preventive intervention for preschoolers with mild to moderate anxiety symptoms. After relocating to Florida, Toula began working as a child therapist at residential recovery center for women. She was promoted to Children’s Clinical Lead supervising developmental therapy staff, facilitating clinical child meeting, and grant submissions.
Toula is currently working as a special education service provider and clinical therapist assessing patient needs, designing treatment plans, conducting individual, group and family counseling sessions, monitoring patient progress, implementing case management techniques, preparing treatment reports, and making referrals. Through the private and charter school system Toula is part of an integral team providing required IEP team planning and program implementation, as well as assisting children in completing target goals. Toula has worked towards her PSYD in clinical psychology with a concentration in forensic psychology, and is currently completing her doctoral dissertation. She has also earned an MS and an MA in clinical psychology and educational psychology, from Carlos Albizu University and New York University, and her BA in General Psychology from LaVerne University, Athens, Greece.
